ANTENNAES AND RELATED
All electric antennas for Mercedes have been made by Hirschman. If maintained properly, these assemblies will last the lifetime of your car. Maintenance involves replacing and lubricating the mast and replacing the antenna seal before it degrades. Bad seals let water migrate to the electrical connector on top of the antenna assembly, thus shortening the logic board. If this board is defective, the complete assembly needs to be replaced.
Mast vs. Complete Assembly: If you can hear your antennae assembly run with the radio on and the mast doesn't go up and
down, chances are your assembly can be salvaged with a new clutch assembly, mast and upper and lower antenna seals.
